Fire safety training in workplaces covers
Carry out regular fire drills.
Location of the following should be known:
1. any hazardous materials.(Notify fire officer on his arrival)
2. incoming services(gas and electricity)
3. fire exits
4. Fire alarm points
Nominate a fire marshal, to check that all personnel and registered visitors are accounted for.
Every one should be informed about evacuation procedures in case of a fire.
Different types of fire extinguishers for different types of fires. A carbon dioxide fire extinguisher should be used for electrical fires which are caused by short circuits or sparking.
Electrical panels and switches should be located away from the door.
